Update 9/4/09

Tessa bean had her first real illness last week. We were lucky to make it this long without her getting much more than a cold, but it still was awful, none the less. She had some sort of 'virus' which the docs can't do anything for anyway. We just had to make sure she stayed hydrated which is very difficult to do when she can't keep food down and what she does get down comes right out the other end, if you catch my drift. After 3 days of trying to follow the doctor's advice of trying to give her diluted formula, we took everyone else's advice of just giving her pedialyte for a couple days to let her system settle down. It worked, thank goodness. I had to stay home with her last Friday and Chuck and his parents took care of her Monday. She couldn't go to day care until she had stopped vomiting and having diarrhea, so luckily his parents were able to watch her the other days. She actually started with the severe diarrhea last Wednesday and didn't start to get better until Monday afternoon. Had I let her eat what she wanted on Tues she probably would've been fine, but I gave her a couple days to recoup. Thanks to everyone for the advice, well wishes and prayers and to Chuck's parents for helping take care of her!

In more exciting news, she's FINALLY getting a tooth! It's on her bottom right side. I think she'll start talking soon too. She's been doing a lot of babbling and "mmmmm's" and "dddddd's". Walking will come just before or shortly after. She's almost a year!
