Tessa had a doctor's appointment last Tuesday and she is nothing short of perfection :) She weighed 11lbs 6oz (about 4.5lbs greater than birth) and was 23.5" long (3" longer than at birth). The doctor said she's actually pretty long for her age, but that she'll probably slow down her growth at some point. She had to get some of her immunizations at the appointment as well, but didn't even flinch, much less cry. She did, however, only receive one shot, so I imagine receiving multiple injections will not be as bearable. She'll be going back in a month to receive the other half of her 2-mo immunizations since we don't want her having them done all at once.
Tessa was very blessed this year with gifts at Christmas. She got lots of toys and generous gifts of money. I took pictures but will have to post them later as I didn't bring my camera in today. She obviously didn't know what was going on at all, as far as the whole present thing goes, but next year will be totally different. Hopefully next year I'll get more decorating done, too.
Since about 7 weeks it seems like she's really started to grow up and get out of that newborn stage. She sleeps through the nights most nights, and by that I mean going to bed between 8:30 & 10:00pm and not waking up until 5:00am or later. This has been a HUGE help to me. Getting 6 or more hours of uninterrupted sleep is so much nicer than getting 9 or 10 hours of interrupted sleep. She laughs, coos, and smiles all the time, especially when you have her on the changing table for some reason. We love 'chatting' with her and singing to her. She is such a happy baby, and of course adorable as well. She is much better at getting a bath. I don't that she actually likes it, but she doesn't cry anymore. She already likes watching cartoons, too. While I have always been very adamant about not just plopping kids in front of the TV, it is nice to have her occupied for a short while, even if it just allows me to sweep or something. She either falls asleep shortly after or will start fussing because she wants to play instead. I only let her watch 'good' cartoons anyway, no Sponge Bob or anything stupid like that. Only stuff that is intended for babies or toddlers. It's hard for me not being able to keep the house clean the way I want, but taking care of her and spending these precious moments that I'll never get back with her are FAR more important than sweeping (as gross as the Charlie hair can be...).
Otherwise, I don't think there's much else to report. I'll try and post some pics tomorrow. If I don't get back on here tomorrow, then I wish you all a Happy New Year!!!
