Our Baby Girl!

Theresa "Tessa" Ann Fuson

Yes, she is here! Sorry, I knew I wouldn't be able to post stuff for a while after she was born. I'm not sure what details Tina gave or what everyone knows, so here's the basics. When I get back to work I'll post her 'birth story' for those that are interested in all the details.
I had my first contraction right after I left work on Tues the 21st. It was the first one I ever had, so I never had any 'false labor', thank goodness. They continued to get closer together and stronger throughout the evening. Chuck and I got to the hospital around 9:00pm. They checked me and I was 3-4 cm and her head was way down (I was still at a 1 the Thurs prior) so I was admitted to my room. Labor went surprisingly quick. They came in and checked me again at 2:00am and I was 6 cm. It was definitely getting more intense and I was ready for things to get moving (for a first timer I was still going pretty fast). Shortly after I was checked I had to use the restroom. We were in there for close to a half hour and my water broke while I was on the toilet. Came back to bed and the nurse checked me (about 3:00am by now) and I was already 7-8 cm. Turns out while I was on the toilet I was having the 'bear down' reflex to push, but I wasn't dilated enough yet to push. So this last hour was the worst part of it all, my body pushing and me just having to breathe through it - worst feeling ever! Finally, about 20 min to 4:00am, I was fully dilated and the doctor had FINALLY arrived and they let me begin pushing. Out she came at 3:58am! No drugs, no nothing. Everything was almost perfect, and of course our little girl was. Chuck was amazing and I couldn't have done it without him. My labor and delivery nurse was awesome too. She was 6 lbs, 13oz, 20.5" long. At her first doc appt the following Mon, she was already 6lbs 15oz - they lose weight at first so for her to already have surpassed birth weight was great. Then this past Wed at her 2 week appt she was 7lbs 12oz and 21". Needless to say Mommy is feeding her well! She's a great baby - she only fusses when something's wrong. Last night she slept for 8 hrs straight, and she's often slept for long periods of time through the night (but not always). Thank you all so much for all your prayers. I feel so blessed for everything throughout pregnancy and up through now that has gone so well.
Here are some pictures we've taken over the past couple weeks. Obviously I'll have more when I get back to work (the week of Thanksgiving).

Her folding her hands at a few days old

Her making one of her silly faces - she's about a week old here

Her after her first bath - she doesn't like getting a bath and Mommy does not like giving them to her!

Does she look like a mini Chuck or what?

Close up of her face

Her and daddy doing what they do best - he makes her warm and sleepy

Her kind of smiling yesterday while Mommy was trying to make soup

Her sitting in her booster seat looking kind of happy

Her in her camo pants Daddy got her - isn't she cute? She's definitely Daddy's little girl.

I am so glad to see all the pictures of my second Great Granddaughter. She is beautiful and looks just like her Daddy. Of course she will look like you later, and she will still be beautiful. I can't wait to see her in person. I see her Daddy and her like to do the same thing.(sleep)

I am so proud the birth went so good so you want be scared to have her a brother or sister. Ha! We will give you time to get back to normal and enjoy Tessa a couple of years.

We Love the three of you all.
