Shower and Other Excitement

We had my Michigan shower yesterday, which was absolutely wonderful. Thank you to those of you who attended and/or contributed, and a HUGE thank you to my hostesses Ang & Ashley... you girls are wonderful and I can't thank you enough... We took pictures on my camera, but I ended up leaving it at Tina's, so I can't put them online yet, but this leads me to the 'exciting' part of the weekend...
Tina just bought a house (yay for her) and Chuck was over there helping during the shower. As I was literally walking out the door to leave the shower, my phone rang, and it was my mother in law. She told me I needed to come to Tina's because Chuck had sliced his hand open, needed stitches, and at some point had passed out at the site of his cut and hit his head... So I drove over there and of course, he's still working. After he was done, we gave him some food cause he said he was hungry and that would help him feel better, then I drove him to the local urgent care. On the way we got stuck in a bit of traffic b/c of an accident, then we get to the urgent care and they won't take our insurance... So we end up having to go to the other one that really wasn't that much further in the first place. Luckily they were not busy and we got seen right away. Chuck was still a bit squeamish about looking at the cut once they took off the bandaging - which, by the way, his dad was there when it happened and did an excellent job of taking care of the wound immediately - but he was more worried about getting the Novocaine shots. Luckily both the nurse and doctor were absolutely wonderful and did a great job of taking care of him and making him as comfortable as possible. We were in there for about 1.25 hrs total, which I didn't think was bad at all. But for having something crappy like that happen, it couldn't have gone better. He was lucky his dad was there and took care of him, he was lucky he didn't cut himself deeper and cut a tendon, he was lucky he missed his wrist, because he got the meaty part of his thumb, and he was lucky he cut it with a sharp, new clean blade so the wound was easy to repair and has little chance for infection. We are very grateful. So in 10 or so days, he has to get the stitches taken out - there were 3 inners and 10 on the outside.
All the excitement aside, yesterday was still wonderful. We had great weather, great food, great company, and many wonderful, generous gifts. We are so blessed with everything everyone's done for us and the good fortune we've had lately (injuries aside). Thank you all so much, and God bless!
I'll post the pics of the shower later this week.

What a day. The shower was awesome. Thank you to the Peltier gals, what good friends.
As soon as I arrived at Tina's I saw Chuck's bandaged hand, the blood and his pale palor and knew it was not good. After making sure he was okay I called MB to "tell" on him because he would not stop working. He was very lucky he didn't cut into anything vital, it was so close to the artery in the wrist. I know that incident gave Ed a few more gray hairs. He got the "Dad" yell from his son, it never changes from when they are small. You can tell from the tone something is wrong. Tina cried becaused she felt bad he was hurt at her house, and said it was all her fault. He will be okay and will have a story to tell Tessa about what to him happened the day of her shower.
It was good to see the Watson girls and Gabrielle sure was a crack up at the shower. Hope the tip home was uneventful.

I added my name but it didn't make it on the post. I can't get back into my post to edit the typos either. I think I'm too tired. Night, night.
